Aggressive Systems Protection

This project began with the branding for "Aggressive Systems Protection," a technical firm that specialized in network security. Their mark was derived from a snake sketch, a play off the ASP brand they were creating, and the brand personality of patience, wisdom, and cunning. After the logo was created and applied to a business system, I began to develop a system for "Systems Protection Magazine," a trade publication meant to be distributed to clients and partner firms. Sample spreads from this magazine reflect the subject matter and motif of tech culture.

Typographers: 1970-1980
 |
Part of a larger typographic exibit, this project's aim was to explore the work of three very important typographers from the 1970's and 1980's. There are few typographers whose work varies more than Herb Lubalin, Milton Glaser, and April Greiman; but each designer made important contributions to typographic design. The fifteen card contained samples and explorations of their techniques and philosophy, and could be interlocked to form a variety of designs and patterns.

Banned Books Collection
 |
Every year Penguin Books releases a slipcover set containing excerpts of famous banned books. These volumes are intended to celebrate so
me of the most important works in western literature. For this project I decided to reference the concept of banned literature by using die-cut covers to reveal hidden textures related to the subject matter. Each volume in the set also contained a portion of the Penguin logo, adding to the act of exploration in manipulating the printed materials
